Abby is currently a Business Management Major with an emphasis in entrepreneurship at Fox Valley Technical College Appleton.

She first discovered DECA in her freshman year of college and decided to run for an officer position at her first meeting- like so many previous Fox Valley Tech alum's have.

Abby has said, "DECA was the first organization that I joined, and the first one I fell in love with. Before DECA, I was reserved and shy, but now I have the confidence to start a conversation with anyone. I am so thankful for the skills I have earned through this organization and for my wonderful DECA family."

Happy Tuesday Wisconsin Collegiate DECA! Because our civic project this year is focusing on health, why not tie a little bit of our overall health into everything? Obesity is one of the biggest factors that play into Kidney Disease. One way to help manage obesity and get anyone on to the right track of losing weight is sleep! But, in this day and age, sleep sometimes is a little bit foreign to us. Just take a look at this infograph! ... See MoreSee Less

Welcome to your weekly "Wouldn't You Like to Know" Wednesday! Today's feature officer is your State Parliamentarian, Scott Dykstra!

Scott is currently a marketing student at WCTC. His involvement with our association has been one full of laughter and a few amazing accomplishments for the last 3 years. At state conference we came to determine that you are tall (we mean TALL) and filled with an equally big sense of humor! Scott is the type of guy who can make you laugh at practically EVERYTHING, and somehow turns any weird situation into a hilarious one.

As we are a proud state of being Green Bay Packers fans, it would seem that our dear Scott has set himself apart on being a Chicago Bears fan. While he joins his State Office Team in being quite a Batman fans and his favorite Batman movie is The Dark Knight. Now it is our turn as a state to see if we can add a Wisconsin team sock to his collection of Illinois sport team socks, then we can welcome him over to our dark side.

What would you like to know about Scott?

Since today is our highlighting day of your Wisconsin Collegiate DECA State President, how about we share a few other tid bits about charismatic, Batman loving Mr. Aaron Cole? We can't really say he loves long walks on the beach or anything, but he definitely has the passion for our Association and YOU.

Featured in these photos, Aaron is seen about to carry our State FLAG across stage this last ICDC in Orlando, FL. You can also see in the next Aaron and our Director Emeritus, Mae J. Laatsch well as past state officer Mary Gonzalez!

What a lovely punch of photogenic officers we have!

The time is here! We are so excited to officially announce all of the amazing things we have ready for you all! First off, over the summer we had some pretty intense days at Summer Boards. With that came our decision on your new 2015-2016 State Civic Project! Ready?

The National Kidney Foundation!

With the increasing number of diagnosed Kidney Disease patients, we have determined that so many people within our Association have been affected by or have known someone affected by this disease. We, at Wisconsin Collegiate DECA, feel that awareness needs to be spread and voices need to be heard! , Within the day, an informative packet will be sent to your advisors and respective Chapter Presidents to help you on your journey to success and awareness.

The informative packet is to help you become educated thoroughly about the disease and to give you "selling points" for any and all fundraisers you have throughout the year. Not only that, but the packet also gives you information on how to defend against Kidney Disease- anyone can be affected, so it's imperative to take cautionary measures now.

On top of the informative packet, we will be doing weekly posts at 9 A.M Monday through Friday throughout the year to help keep you and your Chapter's connected and informed with your State Officers. Be sure to stay tuned to our Facebook Page and keep tabs on our Twitter Feed!

We know it's a bit much to take in and read, but we are dedicated to making your year a successful one! Advisors and Chapter Presidents, please be on the look out for your email from your Respective Regional Vice Presidents.

If you may have any questions, contact your State Secretary, Alexandria House at

And remember, now is your time to #beEPIC!
